Just a bit about "me". I live in a quaint little tourist town 2 hours north of Toronto, On...."Huntsville"...Canada with my hubby....Jack...We have 2 grown children....Son David and Daughter Laura, who also is a long arm quilter.
Proud Grandma of 2 boys and 2 girls.
At the age of 10, I started sewing simple garments.....as a young Mom, I sewed most all my children's clothes , my own as well. Also took in sewing and alterations for others. For a number of years I was a Pfaff home sales associate. I taught several classes and workshops for Georgian College.
My love for sewing flourished and my interest turned to quilting. After retiring from Jewllery store sales , I worked at our local Quilt Shop, loving the challenge of choosing fabrics for store samples and customer quilts.
There was a long arm quilter on site but it didn't take long till I desired to quilt my own quilts..I purchased a Pfaff Grand Quilter and began my quilting journey, however features and size were limited.
October , 2014 , after received an email from Grace Co. I purchased my Qnique 14+....best decision ever made...special thanks to Mark Martin for all his help. Grace Co at this time did not have a distributor in Canada....so it was sight unseen .
Quilting has become my "go to"...hardly a day passes I don't spend some time in my studio. I am a free motion quilter with some ruler work. I aspire to try new designs and advance my quilting skills, there are usually 5-7 quilts waiting to get under the needle from customers hanging in my studio... they are so thrilled to see their quilts finished. Such a rewarding feeling for us quilters .
I have been fortunate to be able, with my daughter , to attend the Creative Sewing Festivals in Toronto and Canadian Quilt Show in Ottawa where Grace Co. attend with their Canadian Distributor, Sewrite.... to see what is new and
just bond with all the great folks from Grace.
My Bucket list..... have lunch with Mark Martin in Utah..
Happy Quilting everyone.
